I don’t know which kind of treatment to get. What should I do?
That’s totally okay—most clients aren’t sure at first! The best thing to do is come in for a consultation or book a first-time facial. During your visit, I’ll take a close look at your skin, talk to you about your concerns (like dryness, breakouts, sensitivity, or signs of aging), and then recommend a treatment plan tailored just for you.
Whether your goal is a deep cleanse, hydration, anti-aging, or just a healthy glow, we’ll figure it out together. You don’t need to know exactly what you want—we’re here to guide you. Just bring your skin, and we’ll take care of the rest!
Am I going to break out after a treatment?
Here’s the honest answer: sometimes, yes, but not always. It really depends on your skin type, what kind of treatment you get, and how your skin reacts to the deep cleansing process.
Some clients experience a little “purging” after their first facial, especially if they’ve never had professional treatments before or if we’re doing extractions. That’s just your skin pushing out impurities, and it usually clears up quickly. On the other hand, many people leave with glowing, calm skin and no breakouts at all.
Should I wear make-up to my facial?
If you’re coming in for a facial, it’s totally okay to wear makeup—but if you can come in with a clean face, even better!
Can I wear make-up after my facial?
For most facials, I recommend waiting at least 24 hours before applying makeup. Your skin will be freshly cleansed, exfoliated, and possibly a bit more sensitive than usual, especially if we’ve done extractions, peels, or any active treatments. Letting your skin breathe gives it time to absorb all the benefits of the facial and helps avoid clogging your pores right after we’ve cleared them out.
If you absolutely need to wear makeup the same day (say, for an event), let me know beforehand. I can tailor the treatment to be gentler and apply a lightweight, non-comedogenic finish at the end to help protect your skin.
Can I work out after my facial?
As the owner of a facial studio, I always tell my clients: please hold off on working out for at least 24 hours after your facial—your skin will thank you for it!
After a treatment, especially one involving exfoliation, extractions, or active ingredients, your skin is in a more delicate, absorbent state. Working out right away—sweating, increasing your body temperature, getting bacteria from gym equipment on your face—can really undo all that good work we just did. You might end up with redness, irritation, or even a breakout.
Do extractions hurt?
Yes, extractions can be a little uncomfortable, but they shouldn’t be painful. Here’s how I explain it to clients:
During extractions, we’re manually clearing out clogged pores—usually blackheads or milia. I always prep the skin first with steam or warm compresses to soften the pores and make the process as gentle as possible. Most people describe the feeling as a bit of pressure or pinching, especially around the nose or chin where congestion tends to be deeper.
What do you do if I have sensitive skin?
If you tell me you have sensitive skin, I take that very seriously—and we adjust everything from start to finish to make sure your skin feels safe, calm, and cared for.
